On the morning of October 6, in Vinh Ngoc Commune, Dong Anh District, Hanoi, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the new project named SMART CITY. The Minister also officially announced scale & developer’s information of the nearly USD 4.2 billion project.

Smart City Dong Anh project is implemented in the Urbanization Orientation in the North of Hanoi. Meanwhile, the new Administrative Center will be an area of Tay Ho & Bac Tu Liem, also located on the main road Vo Chi Cong (Learn more). In 11/09/2019, Authorities held a meeting with citizens of Dong Anh who has land at the project area to consult with them over adjustments to the project. Eventually, 271 hectares of land belonging to nearly 1,500 households will be taken back to deploy the project.
According to the Minister, Smart City will be built until 2028. The period is devided into 5 phases. The feature of the project is the Finance Center skyscraper (108 floors). This will supplant Landmark 81 of Vinhomes Central Park in Top 1 the highest building in Vietnam. Orientations for development and operation of the Government is making Smart City become a smart, healthy, environment-friendly city. Many advanced and intelligent technologies will be applied, including 6 basic elements such as smart energy, smart transportation, smart administrative, smart study, smart life and smart economy.
Smart management system and renewable energy technology will optimize energy supply and storage. The project developer also plans to implement an environmentally friendly public transport system that connects Smart city with the center of Hanoi.
Beside, they will install a multifunctional intelligent monitoring and warning system to monitor air quality, water, weather, disaster risk as well as security, ensuring maximum safety for residents. .
The project will also apply many modern technologies in the daily life such as 5G technology, face recognition and blockchain technology, contributing to improving the services of Hanoi.
