5 Conditions to get Jobs for Foreigners in Vietnam

A foreign worker working in Vietnam is defined as a person having foreign nationality and must satisfy the following 5 conditions:

(1) Be 18 years of age or older and have full civil act capacity;

(2) Having professional qualifications, techniques, skills, work experience;

(3) Being healthy as prescribed by the Minister of Health;

(4) Not being a person in the period of serving a penalty or having not had a criminal record expunged or being examined for penal liability under the provisions of foreign law or Vietnamese law;

(5) Having a work permit issued by a competent state agency of Vietnam, except for the cases ineligible for the issuance of a work permit specified in Article 154 of the Labor Code 2019 and Article 7 of Decree 152/2020/ND-CP dated December 30th, 2020. 

Vietnam Temporary Residence Card

A temporary residence card is a document issued by an immigration authority or a competent authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to a foreigner who is permitted to reside for a period of time in Vietnam and a temporary residence card is valid for replacement of the visa.
